Brief Description:  Construction of Canopy Frame

For the canopy frame 3 bends of aluminum tubes are required (D107 Pos. 1 and 2/D110 Pos.2)- 2 for the front and 1 for the rear canopy. Today I bent the rear one for the front canopy. According to the plans it is made from AC 100/61 (EN AW 6082 T6) 16x1.5mm. Unfortunately this type of aluminum dimension is really difficult to get with that specific strength. Spent hours with searching! I do have a piece left that is sufficient for the front part of the front canopy. I found an equivalent aluminum with almost the same dimensions (5/8"x0.065"//15.875x1.651) but more tensile strength (min. 425 N/mm2). I ordered it with AC Spruce in the USA.

Filled the tube all the way with sand and closed the ends with wooden pieces manufactured on the lathe. The bending procedure was done with the unheated aluminum while I bent it over a form. Clamped and fixed it thereafter
